Russell Simmons talks money at Hip Hop Summit

When it comes to business, few can top Russell Simmons, the king of hip-hop and hip-hop fashion. He was in town Saturday for the The Hip Hop Summit Network’s Get Your Money Right seminar at Texas Southern University.

Simmons is now a huge philanthropist and big on giving folks solid advice on how to make a dollar. “Nobody will support your vision until you put your head down and do the work,” he told the packed auditorium.

He was joined by Bun B, Slim Thug, and Houston Chronicle personal finance columnist Shannon Buggs and special guest actor Terrence Howard.

Now, someone let Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee in and as usual she took the mic and wouldn’t give it back. That’s when Simmons looked a bit frustrated….
