BMI has released its 2009 Annual Review which has highlighted several aspects of the organization’s operations. including a breakdown of domestic licensing income by category:

Television (cable & satellite): 29%
Broadcast Television: 17%
Radio: 36%
General Licensing: 16%
New Media: 2%

According to the report, BMI had revenues in fiscal year 2009 of over $905 million and royalty distributions totaling more than $788 million, indicating an operating expense of approximately 13%….
